Lt. Governor Dalton to Speak on Healthcare, Rural Economy in Raleigh

Raleigh - Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton will speak to the Nurse-Family Partnership Planning Conference in Raleigh on Thursday, January 19, 2012. Nurse-Family Partnership is a nurse-led, evidence-based community health program that pairs registered nurses with first-time, low-income mothers for home visits from pregnancy until the child turns two. Later Thursday, Lt. Governor Dalton will speak to the Ruritan National Convention. Ruritan Clubs are a community service organization serving smaller communities. Members from across the nation will gather in Raleigh for their national convention.

Raleigh - Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton will visit Roper in Washington County and Murfreesboro in Hertford County on Thursday, January 12, 2012. In Roper, Lt. Gov. Dalton will meet with Mayor Bunny Sanders and community leaders to discuss economic development and job creation opportunities for Eastern North Carolina. Dalton is a member of the state Economic Development Board. In Murfreesboro, Lt. Gov. Dalton will speak at the town’s 225th anniversary celebration at Chowan University with Mayor John Hinton.

Lt. Governor Dalton, State Announce New Jobs

Shelby, NC - Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton today joined Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco, along with state and local officials for the announcement that Baldor Electric Company, which manufactures electric motors, will expand their operations in Cleveland County to accommodate growing demand for wind-powered technology. The project is projected to create 166 jobs, and the company expects to invest $17 million in the plant.
