Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest Issues 67 Question Letter to Department of Public Instruction
Unanswered Questions on Common Core
(Raleigh, NC) – Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest today released a 67 question letter to State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. June Atkinson, outlining a series of unanswered questions he has with North Carolina’s implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
The letter is discussed in the following 3.5 minute video also released today by Lieutenant Governor Forest. This is the second video on Common Core released by Forest over the last few weeks.

In Forest's letter he requests that the Department of Public Instruction answer his questions by the August 2013 State Board of Education meeting.
"With the start of the traditional school year only weeks away, State Board of Education meetings just don’t allow enough time to answer all of our questions in depth. Given these time constraints, we have outlined our questions in letter form to allow for a systematic approach to this dialogue. Hopefully this will expedite the process, and focus the discussion of Common Core at future board meetings.”
